Full description

Part of a cairn group (1970), this cairn is situated on the crest of a boulder covered moorland ridge. It was first recorded by the OS in 1973 (h1, b1), and in the 1980s was surveyed from the air and on the ground by the RCHM (h2, h3, b2). According to the latter it is a disturbed, turf covered cairn approximately 7.7m in diameter and 0.4m high, with traces of a kerb of small boulders, averaging 0.3m high, within the mound perimeter. Its top has been mutilated and a large earthfast boulder lies to one side of a 0.3m deep central pit (h3).
