Full description
Helebridge Wharf is a unique point in the Bude Canal, marking the intersection point between the standard canal and the tub boat canal, beyond which all goods were transported by tub-boats (1)
Helebridge Wharf was a key transhipment and loading facility on the Bude Canal. It marks the limit of navigation for the barge canal from Bude, and from this point only the smaller tub-boats could work the higher branches of the system. It is now a car-park and picnic area (b1).
The stone garden wall of Wharf Cottage forms part of the southern boundary of the wharf (1).
