Full description
National or Endowed School, built in 1872 in memory of the Rev. J Buller Kitson. Recorded on the 1st and 2nd Editions of the 1:2500 1880 and 1907 OS map. C19 building stone rubble with freestone dressings and steeply pitched slate roof with gable end on left and canted end on right. Bellcote with bell and brick chimney stack on west gable end. Single cell plan chapel with apsidal east end. Late C19 early C20 extension as cross wing and additional wing to north. Original ornate timber roof with wind braces. Doors and memorial plaque in interior. Now Church of England Voluntary Aided School.
