Full description

A milestone survives on the east side of the A388, south of Penpill. It is recorded on the 1st and 2nd Edition 1:2500 OS maps c1880 and c1907 "Callington 3½ Launceston 7" and "MS" is recorded on the modern OS Mastermap 2008, suggesting its survival, although the full inscription and condition of the stone are unknown. In the series of five milestones, four of which survive, these were probably erected by the Callington Highway Board in approx 1878.
