Full description

A bridge carrying the line of the Cornwall Railway over the public road at 297m 17c. The bridge is of rubble slatestone masonry, with cut stone voussoirs to a skew round arch, and has a string course above the arch which also forms a low parapet. The bridge is approx 17m wide as it is carried through a high embankment. Splayed and ramped wing walls are incurving to the arch, and the voussoirs are cut to match the curve. A very fine unaltered example, by Sharpe & Sons (contractors) 1852-55 (JRS).
