Full description
The Cornwall Railway built a two-road engine shed at Falmouth, which originally had a very small (7m) turntable to the east. This was recorded on the 1st edition 1:2500 OS map. By the time of the 2nd edition, a larger (18m) turntable had been added to the rear of the shed, which involved shortening the original building by 5m. The shed closed in 1925. By the time of the 1930s OS revision the shed had been demolished. The site is now very overgrown with buddleia, semi-mature trees and scrub, and it was not possible to assess the area from a brief inspection. However, there is potential for some survival of the shed and turntable beneath the vegetation (JRS).
