Summary

One of an almost straight line of granite stones averaging 1.0m high and 0.3m x 0.2m which mark the southern boundary of West Phoenix Mine. Each is inscribed WP, with NP on the reverse indicating New Phoenix Mine, and thought to date prior to 1886 when the mine became part of Phoenix United.
