Full description
A depression range finder cell was built against the counterscarp below the southwest flank of the Ravelin, probably during the project to construct the Half Moon Hydropneumatic Battery in 1895. This project also required the section of ditch between the back gate bridge and the north flank of Bell Bastion to be filled with earth to provide a glacis for the new hydropneumatic emplacement of One Gun Battery (1).
