Full description
A building is shown by Lilly on his survey of 1715, opposite East Bastion towards the centre of the parade. Lilly identifies it as a 'gunners' barracks'. The building is shown on a survey of 1752 but not labelled.
In an anonymous plan of 1762 it is described as the 'sutling house' from which camp followers could sell provisions to the garrison (1).
