Full description
In 1944 a 40mm Mk III Bofors on a Mk IV mounting was emplaced on Carrick Mount Bastion to provide aerial protection to Middle Point Battery. The battery Bofors went into action on 30 May 1944 firing seven rounds. It was manned jointly by 216 (POINT) and 442 (MOON) personnel receiving action orders from MOON BOP. The equipment was returned to the Royal Army Ordnance Corps during 1945 (1).
