Full description

A 100ft long timber structure is first shown parallel with the curtain on an Ordnance Survey plan of 1752. It may have been a temporary barracks or perhaps a cover for the field train. It does not appear on an unsigned plan of 1762. It is roughly in the position of the reading and writing room constructed at the turn of the century (1).
