Full description
An Ordnance contour survey of 1849 shows an emplacement for a traversing gun, pivoted at the centre within the bastion. No trace of the guerite on this site remains. Presumably it was demolished to provide an unobstructed field of fire for the new gun. The emplacement was demolished in 1854 (1).
