The concrete cell at Pendennis is an early post, probably built during the First World War which later, together with another at Carne Beacon, the footings of which survive and match those at Pendennis, and a third somewhere on the Roseland Peninsula, triangulated the positions of aircraft approaching Falmouth harbour during World War Two.

The concrete cell at Pendennis is an early post, probably built during the First World War which later, together with another at Carne Beacon, the footings of which survive and match those at Pendennis, and a third somewhere on the Roseland Peninsula, triangulated the positions of aircraft approaching Falmouth harbour during World War Two. The post has been damaged in more recent years by its use as a rubbish buring pit (1).
