Full description

By 1947 a coast defence radar set had been emplaced in a small building on the easternmost platform behind the Director No. 17. The concrete emplacements were used from the end of the Second World War onwards as hardstandings for mobile radar vehicles. The coast defence radar building does not survive, although its plan form is clearly visible in the scarred concrete (1).
