Summary
The 1904 Falmouth Defence Scheme records that Pendennis Castle was protected by five c.m. (carriage mounted?) machine guns. Today the ammunition lockers set into the parapet of Horse Pool Bastion identify this as the location of a powerful machine gun battery. By 1911 the number of machine guns at the castle had been reduced to one.

Full description
The 1904 Falmouth Defence Scheme records that Pendennis Castle was protected by five c.m. (carriage mounted?) machine guns. Today the ammunition lockers set into the parapet of Horse Pool Bastion identify this as the location of a powerful machine gun battery. By 1911 the number of machine guns at the castle had been reduced to one (1).
