Summary
In 1865 the branch of Castle Road which had served the old soldiers huts, became the right fork into the newly constructed Castle Drive. Under a Headland Improvement Committee parts of the eastern glacis were altered to provide a woodland walk called Hunters' Path involving substantial excavation and embankments, and at some of the best viewpoints, benches were erected.

Full description
In 1865 the branch of Castle Road which had served the old soldiers huts, became the right fork into the newly constructed Castle Drive. Under a Headland Improvement Committee parts of the eastern glacis were altered to provide a woodland walk called Hunters' Path involving substantial excavation and embankments, and at some of the best viewpoints, benches were erected (1).
