Summary

In 1865 the branch of Castle Road which had served the old soldiers huts, became the right fork into the newly constructed Castle Drive. Under a Headland Improvement Committee parts of the eastern glacis were altered to provide a woodland walk called Hunters' Path involving substantial excavation and embankments, and at some of the best viewpoints, benches were erected.

Full description
