Summary
An enclosure with gardens is first indicated on a plan of 1600 occupying the bluff between Middle Point and Crab Quay. A revetted platform is also shown by the Buck Brothers in their engraving of 1734. The platform seems to have been short lived perhaps due to excessive erosion of the soft cliff.

An enclosure with gardens is first indicated on a plan of 1600 occupying the bluff between Middle Point and Crab Quay. A revetted platform is also shown by the Buck Brothers in their engraving of 1734. The platform seems to have been short lived perhaps due to excessive erosion of the soft cliff (1).
