Full description
A small prefabricated concrete hut was erected at the gate of the bomb proof fuel storage depot from which wardens could watch for aerial mines and incediary bombs during World War Two. The look-out, codenamed DOCK SPOTTERS' POST was provided with a slit trench for infantry defence in the event of an assault on the position. An underground air-raid shelter was provided for the wardens in the event of direct aerial bombardment (1).
