Full description

Tangye in 1974 collected surface finds near the site of the coastguard lookout at Treryn Dinas (b1), and in the mid-1980s Alastair Oswald collected flint "from eroded surfaces within" the cliff castle; including four primary flakes with smooth cortex, two small pyramidal cores, twelve blades and blade fragments, seven small bladelets and five sherds of post-medieval pottery. The finds were sent to the Historic Environment Service and will be deposited in the Royal Cornwall Museum. Previous lithic finds from inside Treryn Dinas are recorded in 1888 (JRIC Vol 9 59). Russell's 1971 parish checklist includes these finds but records their present whereabouts as unknown.
