Full description

In the late C13, Degembris was acquired by the Beaupe family. On 3 July 1319, Isabella de Bello Prato had licence for the chapels in several of her manors, including Tikambred (Degembris). She was however to attend the parish church on the greater festivals. Among the muniments of Corpus Christi College, Oxford, is a bull of Pope John XXI (1276) granting a petition of John de Bello Prato to have mass in the chapel of St Mary and St John the Baptist at Degembris on account of the distance of the parish church and the flooded state of the roads in winter (b1).
