Roman coins including denarius of Antoninus found by Mr Collyns, surgeon of Kenton, probably in the early 19th century.

Roman coins found at The Thorns, where a way branches off to Kenton from the turnpike road to Newton. Roman coins found here in a heap of flints taken from a tumulus for road repairing. Denarius of Antoninus and several other coins of silver and copper were recovered.
