The linear disposition of the group implies successive dynastic or family burials. Other details: Barrow No 19.


Devon Committee for Rescue Archaeology, 1979 - 1981, North Devon Barrow Survey, Exe Valley Barrow No 19 (Archive - Survey). SDV341310.

Site visit November 1979. This possible barrow was not easily discernible and not considered surveyable, although it is possible that the hedge respects a former mound.

1. Barrow C, a possible bowl barrow.
2. Site visit 02/08/1962. Field under crop and could not be investigated. Barrow C is a vague and formless rise which might be natural but could be a ploughed down bowl barrow. No trace of a ditch.
3. 75 feet diameter and 2 feet high.
4. Site visit 09/02/1982. Probable barrow. 30.0 metres diameter and 0.3 metres high. Its southern end, within the adjacent field has been destroyed. Other details: Barrow C.
