Full description

Child, P., 1998, Countryside Stewardship. Narracott Farm, Milton Abbot, Tavistock (Correspondence). SDV349320.

Site visit to Narracott Farm. Behind the house are the remains of a bank barn. Its original form is now a little difficult to perceive as the end nearest the house has been reduced to a lean-to and the original pitched roof has been replaced by a lean-to sheeting roof. The opposing large loading doors on the first floor survive, however, although that at the back has been blocked. The floor has also been removed so that the interior is now open to the roof. Not recommended for Countryside Stewardship grant aid due to the fact that so much of the building has been lost and the prohibitive cost of returning it to its original form.
