Former field boundaries of medieval or post-medieval date are visible on aerial photographs of the mid 1940s to the late 1970s, as short curvilinear earthwork banks and ditches to the west of Babbacombe Farm. The boundaries defined by the earthworks are not depicted on the Ordnance Survey first edition 25inch map of 1880s-1890s. However, they are clearly associated with the surrounding field boundaries which are depicted, which are probably medieval in origin. The relict field boundaries had therefore probably passed out of use by the second half of the 19th century. The earthworks are not clearly visible on later aerial photographs.
