Three former field boundaries of medieval or post-medieval date are visible on aerial photographs of 1946, as long relict curvilinear earthwork banks, locatrd on a saddle of high ground between Babbacombe Farm and Cockington Plantations. The earthworks do not correspond with any field boundaries depicted on the Ordnance Survey first edition 25inch map of 1880s-1890s. However, they appear to be associated with, and operhaps be continuations of extant field boundaries which are depicted in the surrounding area, which are probably medieval in origin. The relict field boundaries had therefore probably passed out of use by the second half of the 19th century. The earthworks are not clearly visible on later aerial photographs and may have been levelled above ground by modern agricultural improvement.
