Subtle curvilinear earthworks are visible on aerial photographs of 1975 in a prominent position overlooking the slopes of Stanwell Hill, Westward Ho! Low earthwork banks appear to define a small sub-circular enclosure or platform up to circa 20 metres in diameter. The form of the earthworks is reflected in the line of curvilinear field boundaries of probable medieval date immediately to the north. However, it is unclear whether the possible earthwork enclosure pre or postdates the enclosure of the field. It is possible they are a later feature, potentially created by the modern cultivation of the field. The earthworks now underlie a modern housing development and have probably been at least partly levelled.
