HER Number:MDV102173
Name:Relict field boundary west of Hescott Farm

Summary

A linear bank is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs taken in 1946. A field boundary is shown in this location on the 1844 Tithe map but not on the 1880s-1890s Ordnance Survey mapping, suggesting that this bank is a relict field boundary of probable medieval origin that fell into disuse in the second half of the nineteenth century. It is not visible on any later available aerial photographs, but it may survive as a low earthwork.
