Summary

A possible field or enclosure boundary of probable post-medieval date is visible on aerial photographs as a pale linear cropmark, to the south-west of Stoke. The cropmark appears to abut an extant field boundary, itself very regular in form, at its northern end. The cropmark is visible heading south for about 55 metres before turning west for 20 metres towards a spring-fed stream. It may originally have been made to enclose the springhead immediately to the north-west.
