The remains of a possible quarry or extractive pit can be seen on aerial photographs and images derived from Lidar data, centred on circa SS22762421, on a steep south-facing combe slope to the east of St Catherine’s Tor, Hartland. The possible pit, measuring circa 25 by 15 metres in size, is not depicted on the Ordnance Survey first edition map, and had therefore probably passed out of use by the 1880s.
