A roughly circular feature is visible on aerial photographs as a subtle earthwork on the southern bank of the Abbey River, to the south of Hartland Abbey, at circa SS24242475. The feature is approximately 30 metres in diameter and is of unknown date and function. It may be non-archaeological in origin, perhaps the location of a former springhead similar to the examples visible roughly 110 metres to the south-west.
