A dark irregularly shaped cropmark with pale border is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1999. The form of the cropmark suggests differential drainage into a deep cut feature such as a quarry. No quarry or other earthwork feature is depicted here on the 1880s-1890s Ordnance Survey mapping, and this cut feature may therefore predate the late nineteenth century.
