Three relict field boundaries of probable medieval origin are visible on aerial photographs as curvilinear cropmarks on gentle north-west facing slopes, overlooking the confluence of two watercourses circa 600 metres to the north-west of East Milford. The cropmarks follow the alignment of the surrounding field boundaries, as extant in 1942, and may be evidence of post-medieval enclosure on the basis of medieval strip fields. Similar but more subtle earthwork remains of strip field are visible approximately 100 metres to the east. The cropmarks are not visible on later aerial photographs.
