Two north-south aligned former field boundaries of probably medieval to modern date are visible as earthworks at South Hole, Hartland. The earthworks correspond with field boundaries depicted on the Hartland Tithe Map of 1844, butn boundaries are depicted in this location on the Ordnance Survey first edition 25inch series map of circa 1885. This might support the interpretation that the boundaries were removed by the first half of the 19th century. Further similar relict field boundaries are visible to the south of South Hole,
