A former field boundary of possible medieval date is visible as an earthwork ditch on aerial photographs of 1946, to the west of Galsham Farm, Hartland. The earthwork does not correspond with any boundary depicted on the 1844 tithe map for Hartland or the Ordnance Survey first edition 25inch, but it is on a similar alignment to the depicted surrounding field boundaries, which are interpreted as being medieval in origin. It is not visible by 1959 and has probably been levelled by modern improvements.
