Hegarty, C. + Knight, S., 2011 - 2012, North Devon Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV349018.

Two linear banks, approximately 3 metres wide and aligned approximately north to south, are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken between 1946 and 1959, within an area of narrow ridge and furrow probaby resulting from deep ploughing to improve drainage. They are likely to be field boundaries, and are not show on the 1844 Tithe or later available maps, and probably pre-date the mid-nineteenth century; their straight alignment suggests a post-medieval date. The banks may have been levelled by ploughing since the 1950s.
