A quarry is depicted and annotated.


Ordnance Survey, 1904 - 1906, Second Edition Ordnance Survey 25 inch Map (Cartographic). SDV325644.

The quarry is not depicted and has probably been superseded by a quarry immediately to the east.


Royal Air Force, 1946, RAF/3G/TUD/UK/158 (Aerial Photograph). SDV349143.

A quarry is visible as a low earthwork hollow.

The probable quarry remains visible.

A quarry of probable post-medieval date is visible on aerial photographs of 1946 onwards as an earthwork to the north of West Dydon Farm. The quarry is marked as a small pit on the Ordnance Survey first edition 25 inch map. The earthwork hollow visible on aerial photographs is approximately twice the area of the pit marked on the historic map. The quarry is not marked on the Ordnance Survey second edition 25 inch map of circa 1904-1906, and might have been superseded by a quarry depicted some 70 metres to the east.
