Hegarty, C. + Knight, S., 2011 - 2012, North Devon Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV349018.

Four conjoined curvilinear banks, less than 2 metres in width, are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in 1946. The curvilinear shape closely matches the adjacent field boundaries depicted on the 1880s-1890s Ordnance Survey mapping, and they are likely to be former field boundaries of medieval date. They are not depicted on the Tithe map of 1844 and therefore their use presumably pre-dates the mid-nineteenth century. They are not visible on any later available aerial photographs and may have been levelled in subsequent agricultural improvement operations.
