Hegarty, C. + Knight, S., 2011 - 2012, North Devon Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV349018.
A curvilinear bank of approximately 2.5 metres in width is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs between 1946 and 2007. It is aligned approximately along the countour and is interpreted as a former field boundary constructed at the change of slope. No field boundary is depicted in this location on the 1837 Tithe map, and this feature is likely to have a medieval or post-medieval origin, and fell out of use before the mid-nineteenth century. The different landuse on either side of this feature suggests that it still functioned as some sort of land division in the 1940s, and earthwork remains may survive.
