Hegarty, C. + Knight, S., 2011 - 2012, North Devon Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV349018.

A curvilinear ditch circa 2.5 metres wide is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs from 1946 and on images derived from Lidar data flown in 2007. It may be a continuation of an extant boundary to the south, as it appears to continue north from this boundary then curves east along the contour. The extant boundary is depicted with hachures on the late nineteenth century Ordnance Survey mapping, indicating that the ground sloped downwards on the west of the boundary. The ditched feature may have a similar form, but this would need to be confirmed through a site visit. No boundaries are depicted on the 1840 Tithe map, and the ditched feature could be a post-medieval or medieval field or parkland boundary which became disused before the mid nineteenth century.
