A linear ditch is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs from 1946 and as a dark cropmark on aerial photographs taken in 2007. It is aligned approximately cross-contour, comprises several straight sections, and is circa 2 metres wide and 135 metres long in total. The south-eastern section is marked on 1880s-1890s Ordnance Survey mapping using the symbology used for drains, and ends approximately 65 metres from a large quarry depicted on late nineteenth and early twentieth century maps. It may have been a post-medieval or modern water channel that supplied the quarry workings, and earthworks are likely to survive.
