Summary

A subrectangular mound is visible on 1940s aerial photographs as an earthwork, although the mound had been removed to reveal an internal structure on aerial photographs taken in 1959. It is interpreted as part of the Second World War Northam radar station and may be a transmitter block. The building was removed by 1964 and the site has since been developed for residential housing.

A subrectangular mound, approximately 37 by 57 metres, is visible on 1940s aerial photographs as an earthwork with an entrance from the road on the south-east side. It is overgrown with vegetation on aerial photographs taken in 1958, but the mound has been removed revealing the building beneath by 1959. The building is roughly L-shaped, with an entrance flanked by two walls on the south-east and north-west sides, and could be a West Coast Chain Home transmitter block. It is likely to be associated with the Second World War radar station at Northam. The structure had been replaced by another building by 1964 and the site was residential in 2007.
