Two concentric square features are visible on aerial photographs of the 1940s, possibly as a low earthwork or a shallow ditch, centred on circa SS45633689 on Braunton Burrows. The outer square measures circa 10 metres to a side, and the inner approximately 4 metres. The function of the feature is unknown, but it is probably part of the U.S. Army Second World War Assault Training Centre on Braunton Burrows. It is not visible on aerial photographs of 1952 or later.
