A three sided structure circa 5 metres wide is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1946. The structure is sited on the very western edge of the dunes, and appears to have south, east and west faces and to be facing obliquely out to sea. It is probably a mock-up pillbox used for military training by the U.S. Army during the Second World War. The structure is not visible on later available aerial photographs and was probably demolished or destroyed by erosion.
