Evidence for former field boundary banks of possible medieval or post-medieval date can be seen on aerial photographs of the 1940s onwards as earthworks and cropmarks to the south-east of Croydhoe Farm, Georgeham. Two possible former field boundaries can be seen as roughly north by north-west orientated linear soilmarks or cropmarks crossing the contours of a south-facing combe slope. The possible cropmarks measure up to 12 metres wide, which could support the interpretation that they formed over the levelled and spread remains of former field boundary banks. The cropmarks are also on a parallel alignment to extant field boundaries to the east, which could support the interpretation that they were once part of a more widespread field system. A third possible former field boundary is visible as a low and narrow earthwork bank centred at circa SS43004029. Orientated roughly east to west, this feature probably sub-divided the long and narrow field defined by the north by north-west orientated boundary banks, and might be later in date. This feature is last visible on interactive digital images derived from aerial photographs taken in 2001, and might now also be levelled. The possible former boundaries are not depicted on the 1839 tithe map for Georgeham parish, and therefore had probably passed out of use by this date.
