An irregularly shaped enclosure is visible as an ephemeral structure on aerial photographs taken in 1941. It is probably of barbed wire construction, and is likely to be an Second World War anti-invasion defence of a type commonly known as a strongpoint. Normally these would enclose a pillbox, and although no structures are visible on the 1941 aerial photographs a possible pillbox is visible within this area on aerial photographs taken in 1945 (MDV102508). The structure is not visible on later aerial photographs but remains may survive within the sand dunes.
