Summary

Training Aid 8F is one of ten Second World War structures constructed at Baggy Point as part of Area F of the Woolacombe US Army Assault Training Area. It is one of seven training ‘faces’ or walls built to the east of Area F and visible as structures on aerial photographs of 1945 onwards.

Seven of ten pillbox structures in Area 'F' of the World War II US Assault Training Centre at Baggy Point. Training Aid numbers 6F, 9F and 10F were destroyed by the National Trust before 1997 but remnants of the rest with their associated earthworks remain.

Training Aid 8F is one of ten Second World War structures constructed at Baggy Point as part of Area F of the Woolacombe US Army Assault Training Area. It is one of seven training ‘faces’ or walls built to the east of Area F. Six are built around the periphery of a field centred at circa SS427407, but 8F is located roughly 250 metres to the east centred on circa SS43124069. It is visible as a linear concrete construction less than a metre wide and circa five metres long. It can be seen as a structure on aerial photographs of 1945 onwards.
