Summary

The site of a troop shelter, part of Area F of the US Army Second World War Assault Training Centre on Baggy Point, is visible as a low rectangular earthwork enclosure on aerial photographs of the 1940s. The shelter is located on the northern edge of a large relict quarry pit and is recorded as being constructed of sandbags. No evidence of the shelter can be seen on later aerial photographs available to the survey.

The site of a troop shelter, part of Area F of the US Army Second World War Assault Training Centre on Baggy Point, is visible as a low rectangular earthwork enclosure on aerial photographs of 1945 and 1946, measuring roughly five by three metres internally. The shelter is located at circa SS42244080, on the northern edge of a large relict quarry pit. Richard Bass records the shelter as being constructed of sandbags. No evidence of the shelter can be seen on later aerial photographs available to the survey.
