Hegarty, C. + Knight, S., 2011 - 2012, North Devon Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV349018.

A curvilinear earthwork bank, up to 3 metres wide and 65 metres in length, is visible on the hillside south of Croyde on aerial photographs taken between 1946 and 1953. The bank fits into the medieval field pattern and is likely to be a relict field boundary of probable medieval origin. No boundary is depicted in this location on the 1839 Tithe map, suggesting that it had become degraded and fallen out of use prior to the mid nineteenth century. Survival of the earthworks is not clear, as the area is now obscured by scrub growth.
