A relict field boundary is visible on aerial photographs of the 1940s onward as a linear earthwork bank on the upper slopes of the western side of the Serridge valley, centred on circa SS55164440. The date of the earthwork is not known but it falls within a landscape zone characterised as medieval enclosure based on strip fields and is therefore potentially medieval in date, although a post-medieval origin may be more likely. The boundary is not depicted on the Ordnance Survey first edition 25 inch map and had therefore probably passed out of use before the end of the 19th century. It remains visible as a low and eroded earthwork bank on digital images derived from aerial photographs taken in May 2007.
