Hegarty, C. + Knight, S., 2011 - 2012, North Devon Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV349018.

A small roughly circular shaped depression is visible on aerial photographs of the 1940s onwards as a subtle earthwork on the north-facing combe slopes to the south of Brinscott Farm. The earthwork is probably the remains of a quarry or extractive pit of unknown date and function. A possible spoil mound can be seen along the north-western edge of the pit on aerial photographs of May 1989. The earthwork does not correspond with any features depicted on the Ordnance Survey First Edition map of circa 1889 and the quarry had probably therefore passed out of use by this date.
